hehehe! Looks like a great R5 rifle!! And I'm sure it cost a lot more that five rand!! :lol:

King Arms...

Its a very very true replica indeed and my investment was substantially more that R5.00.
Bit disappointed with some issues. But will post my review soon.

I like the finish (as far as can be seen in the photos) It looks very realistic.

Airsoft international did a review on this gun. The Galil SAR(South African Recce), and to my surprise its mentioned as a South African version and they've been wanting this rifle, so to do a Recce loadout.,nice to see that the Brits would mind doing a South African setup.

They never used them, but thats about the most regonisable name used about SA military, so that was used.

Christo is spot on. Didn't the Budgy men get them and Ratel crews? I thought it was the vleis-bomme that were the guys this was made for initially or was that R6?.

The SAR stands for Short Assualt Rifle, and is a vesion used by the IDF and other some Baltic countries.

A couple of us had pukka Galil's, but I must admit I still liked the R1.

But anyway, Slaai that is one very nice rifle you have there-kudo's, I would like to see your rifle in the flesh.

R3(shortened R1) for airforce is alot better!! 7.62 but the same size as an R6!!!

Straight out of the box the Gastube's thread was stripped, the wire wasnt properly krimped in the connector and ws loose and the magazine was Effed.
