Re: Post your collection

Yep... got it from Slaai. :)

Dankie SlaaiGuy buddy of awesome. lol.

Great rifle for the budget but I do think it could use a little bit of TLC and minor upgrades but nothing that needs to be done "right now".
Very happy with its accuracy!

All in all, I am quite content with it. :)

Argh, splashed out again today on a tactical AK. Always wanted an AK that's "sprayable" hehehe.
Planning on spraying it this week, pics coming soon.

Now to say farewell to some of my beloved paintball gear to raise funds for this beauty:

Tactical AK

Could use some dirt and wear on the paint job to further help the pattern but that will happen in time :)

Nice one OBPhoenix! I love M4's. I have a Tippy A5 paintball gun modded as one along with a custom paint job on it. :)

Heres the final paint job on the tactical AK... Happy with it now. Lol.

Re: Post your collection

Hey COOPER

I used this paint: http://www.opsgear.com/index/page/produ ... pray+Paint

I ordered a couple of cans two years ago. 2 x tan and 1 brown and 1 OD green. This is now the 5th weapon I have sprayed. Cans go quite a long way!

I created a few stencils with some cardboard and used them with varying colours to get the effect I have in the photo.

Did you actually buy it from them? Or did you simply get that specific paint locally?

Re: Post your collection

Bought it through the Opsgear website.

I paid about R60 per can and shipping was about R120 as far as I can remember.

I have seen Krylon paint at my local builders warehouse which is also enamel based and military colour coded. Same kind of paint just different brand but that was quite some time ago.

Have you ever been to an Airsoft game? Why not come to the Nationals, if you are not already? There is still time to register.

Not yet at a SAAPA or affiliate game. Definately will come through to Nationals to support my fellow Airsoft enthusiasts, can only spare a few hours on either day so being a participant is out
unless there is a flexable day by day / game by game fee for folks that can't manage two full days but still want to participate 8)

Re: Post your collection

Some recent pics of my CA M249 Para 8)
almost a year old and put about 40 000 rounds through her,
spent many hours stripping and rebuilding her 2 gearboxes to find a decent median in terms of the power / speed / reliablility equation

One gear box has being designed to use the standard M249 Para / M4 length barrel and the other to use a longer M249 MKII / M16 barrel thus the M249 can be rebuilt either for Medium Range Heavy Suppression or Long Range Medium Suppression.
(in less than 15min)

Heres some info on her upgardes: (and stats)

Gearbox 1: for Medium Range Heavy Suppression
M249 Para 6.01mm Tightbore Barrel (M4-A1 Length)
Madbull Hop Up
Helical Gears Torque Up
Silicon Piston Head
Poly Piston with Metal teeth
Aluminium Spring Guide with Bearings

Chrono'd with .02 BB's using a 11.1v 1300mAH Lipo Battery
M100 - 340 fps / 26 rps
M120 - 410 fps / 24 rps
M135 - 430 fps / 22 rps

Gearbox 2: Long Range Medium Suppression
M249 Mk II 6.04mm Barrel (M16 Length)
Madbull Hop Up
Helical Gears Torque Up
Bore Up Cylinder Kit
Poly Piston with Metal teeth
Metal Spring Guide with Bearings

Chrono'd with .02 BB's using a 7.4v 2100mAH Lipo Battery
M100 - 330 fps / 14 rps
M120 - 390 fps / 12 rps
M135 - 420 fps / 10 rps

Lots of fun to use but at 11.5kgs (in fully pimped up mode*)
she's a real back & bicep breaker!
But that makes it all the better, bring on the burn!

* means she's wearing her...
Elcan 3x Scope
Gemtech Suppressor
Surefire 9P
Red Laser
Grip Pod
M249 MKII Solid Stock with 9.6v 3200mAH NiHM battery
PEQ-15 battery box with a 7.4v 2300mAH Lipol Battery mounted on the Upper RAS
and a 11.1v 1300mAH Lipol Battery in the Lower RIS.
Yes, 3 batteries.
The wiring is still primitive but I am sourcing an electronic solution to control and regulate the multiple battery option.

Enough talk, pic time!

Enjoy 8)
