You would be correct, soldier dont follow set rule and have right to use what ever means necessary to have the advantage over the insurgents. If you look around you find US soldiers with AK's as well. Anything to know that your weapon only needs one shot to stop that attacker 7.68 is happier round than a 5.56mm.

Actually its a Romanian PSL, which is based on the Dragunov. Notice the slightly different stock and shorter foregrip. The PSL is also a different calibre from the SVD which conforms with NATO. I cant remember off hand what it is exactly.

Yes it is a PSL, normally Yugo 7.62x39. The stock with the bend in the cheek rest is the give away.
