Riot Shields????

should riot shields be allowed in an airsoft match?

If used properly, why not. We had a team game where we had two of them and it worked well. Try not to storm a room with them though as it is a bit unfair to the other guys if they can't get a shot in.

Aim for their feet! Would also be more realistic if the weight of a Ballistic shield can be simulated. No lightweight Riot shields.

I have also though about this but I find that using a team mate as a shield is just as good

I think the ideo would be cool for CQB SWAT type games (even if you make your riot shield from cardboard), you could have rules like the shield carrier can only have a pistol, and that the shield becomes useles after x amount of hits, like a shield can only take 5 sperate bursts of fire (obviously the shield carrier would have to keep count) and then must be discarded after that as it is now damaged and no longer effective...

I was actually thinking of making myself a mobile bunker (at work I can get big boxes that ATM's are shipped in), then I wanted to cut a hole to look throughn and put mesh on the hole (so no bb's could get through and hit me) and then cut a small hole to stick the barrel of my gun out.

I could then walk about shooting and not being shot! The only way someone could kill me would be if they ran up to me, lifted the box off and then shot me!

I reckon I would rule with my mobile bunker! But then I figgered the other players would be bad sports and moan and complain and not let me play again...

The time we played with shields Grant made them up from a black dustbin he cut in half.
